About Ngapali Beach
Ngapali Beach is a 12 km stretch of coastline with huge potential to become an internationally known beach destination when the political climate better favours the development of tourism in Myanmar. The beach is clean and beautiful and you can swim in the sea. The big issues which back hold the development of Ngapali Beach (in addition to the political issues) are the transport links – the only ways to get are a slow bus journey or a very expensive flight – and the absence of good low cost, locally run, accommodation and eateries. Ngapali Beach is a quiet and under developed destination as consequence and if you can overcome these obstacles you will enjoy your stay here.

The majority of the accommodation options on Ngapali Beach are upscale resorts, which contain most of the places you can eat. The town of Thandwe is 7 km away and has no accommodation aimed at tourists. There are some cheaper guesthouses in Ngapali Beach but the best you can expect is a fan and a bed for less than $20 USD a night. For a decent place to stay on Ngapali Beach at one of the mid-range resorts, such as the excellent Pleasant View Resort, budget to spend around $135 to $150 USD a night. Not cheap, but very pleasant.
